Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa announces the opening of a public selection process for the awarding of two scholarships reserved for Palestinian students interested in pursuing a PhD programme for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The two scholarships are funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) as part of the project entitled “Multi-disciplinary action aimed at supporting gender equality education in Palestine”, approved in March 2023. The aim is to promote an advanced education system, with a particular focus on gender equality education.
The Sant’Anna School has joined the project because it believes in the fundamental role of science in promoting dialogue and exchange between peoples and in contributing to the reconstruction of peace wherever it gives way to war and human rights violations.
One of the two positions available are part of our PhD in Law, with a project dedicated to women’s constitutional rights and gender justice; the other is part of the PhD in Human Rights, Global Politics, and Sustainability: Legal and Philosophical Perspectives, with a focus on international law and human rights from a comparative perspective.
The deadline for applications is October 6th, 2025.
All information and the full call for applications are available on the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies website: PhD Scholarships for Palestine.
