After completing the program, Ph.D. students are awarded a Ph.D. degree.
In accordance with Art. 2 of Law n. 41 of 14/02/1987, instituting the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, the Ph.D. degree is the equivalent of a research doctorate.
