ANA LUISA DE OLIVEIRA ROCHA

Ana obtained her Bachelor of Laws in 2022 at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), where she also pursued her Master’s, with a merit-based CAPES scholarship. Her thesis, titled “The role of provisional measures before the International Court of Justice: The evolution of the plausibility test and the procedural obstacles to the protection of rights pendente lite”, was recommended for publication. She is a member of the Stylus Curiarum Research Group on International Courts and Tribunals. After completing her Master’s, Ana worked as an independent researcher for the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI). At Sant’Anna, her PhD project concerns the procedural effects of obligations erga omnes partes, with a focus on the institute of third-party intervention at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

FEDERICO DI FEO

Federico graduated summa cum laude from Roma Tre University in 2023 with a Master’s degree in Law, finishing one year ahead of schedule. He defended a thesis titled “The Italian Language and Linguistic Minorities in the Constitutional Framework.” During his studies, he was awarded a four-month scholarship to study at the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle. He subsequently completed his legal traineeship and was called to the bar at the Milan Court of Appeal in the 2024/2025 session. At Sant’Anna, his PhD project focuses on linguistic public policies, and national and sub-national identity-building. His other legal interests include constitutional law, law and literature, multiculturalism, and comparative approaches to human rights. In 2025, he also earned a Master of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Pavia, again graduating summa cum laude.

ALDO NAVARRA SILVERII

Aldo Navarra Silverii graduated cum laude in Law from the University of Pavia in April 2024, having been supported by scholarships from Collegio Ghislieri and the University School for Advanced Study (IUSS Pavia). His final thesis addressed the issue of the qualification for the admission of Members of Parliament, with particular reference to the Italian parliamentary system. After graduation, he continued to focus on parliamentary law, publishing his first article on the challenges emerging in the 19th legislature and attending the courses offered by the Seminario di Studi e Ricerche Parlamentari “Silvano Tosi” in Florence. In July 2025, he obtained a second cum laude degree in Sciences of Administration from the University of Teramo, defending a thesis on electoral appeals in the Italian legal system. His research project concerns electoral systems and electoral rights from a constitutional law perspective.

MARTA PASSERINI

Marta Passerini graduated from the University of Florence with a degree in International Studies and, in 2010, completed a Master of International Affairs at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs in New York. She has also undertaken specialized training through several advanced summer programmes, including the University of Oxford’s International Summer School on Forced Migration. Since 2010, Marta has worked across a wide range of humanitarian contexts with international NGOs such as Save the Children and later with UNICEF. Throughout her career, she has held both managerial and technical roles in Child Protection, gaining extensive experience in mental health and psychosocial support, prevention and response to family separation, care reform, violence against children, and other core areas of child protection. She has also led multiple inter-agency coordination forums in complex emergency and displacement settings. Most recently, Marta has been based at UNICEF Headquarters. Her work has also focused on improving information management processes for case management services, with particular attention to data protection. She is deeply committed to children’s rights and migration-related issues and aims to further advance this work at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies.

KANIMOZHI THANINAYAGAM 

Kanimozhi earned her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the School of Excellence in Law, Chennai, in 2020. She subsequently completed her Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Rights at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 2023. Her dissertation on the “Protection of Traditional Cultural Expressions” involved an extensive empirical study examining the legal and cultural dimensions. Following her studies, Kanimozhi worked as an Intellectual Property Analyst, focusing on examining trademark and geographical indication applications at the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs, and Trademarks, Chennai, through the Project Management Unit of the Quality Council of India. She then served in a teaching role, delivering courses in Intellectual Property Law and Environmental Law to students from business and law programs, while fostering student engagement and mentorship. Her academic and professional trajectory reflects a sustained focus on intellectual property law, with particular attention to traditional knowledge and traditional cultural expressions. Her PhD project focuses on traditional cultural expressions and intellectual property frameworks, addressing challenges in existing IP models and conducting an in-depth exploration.
